Can you wash boxing wraps

How do you care for them and wash them properly? Here are our suggestions:. Boxing hand wraps will begin to get smelly and nasty the moment you start training with them, and they will get progressively worse the longer you wait to clean them. So do yourself a favor and start these cleaning tips as soon as possible after use. First, rinse your boxing hand wraps in either the sink or the shower with lukewarm water. Using a simple hand soap would allow you to clean more thoroughly but it's not necessary.

If you do choose to use soap, be sure to rinse your boxing hand wraps thoroughly as any soap residue can cause skin irritation when you put them back on the next time. You never want to put your hand wraps in the dryer because the plastic on the velcro will melt and the fabric may shrink and cause deformities.

Our favorite way to air dry them is to either hang them over the shower door or shower curtain rod, or lay them flat on a towel and flip them every few hours until they are dry. After your hand wraps are completely dry, you can optionally spray them down with a sports cleaning spray.

Do not store unwashed hand wraps and gloves in your gym bag. The sweat and moisture in the material will become a breeding ground for bacteria and the odor will become very strong. Let them air dry first then wash. Do not store used hand wraps in your gloves. This will prevent them from drying out and spread the sweat and odor in the glove.

Wipe down the inside and outside of your gloves after every use. You can try stuffing your gloves after every use to absorb moisture and odors. Some boxers fill their gloves with newspaper but you can also use glove dogs, cotton bags filled with cedar chips. Thanks for stopping by. Just dab a bit on a paper towel clean the insides and outside of your gloves using the solution. Then, you can dry them using the same blow dryer technique mentioned above, or airing them out by a window.

After every class, throw your wraps in the washer with your regular clothes using a garment bag. After the wash cycle, throw the same garment bag with your wraps right into the dryer.
